Ford has announced aggressive plans to expand their presence in the Indian market. The American automaker has announced plans to double their dealership network in the country by 2015.
Ford currently has around 230 sales outlet around the country. They are now aiming to grow it to 500 in the next three years.
The company is also setting up a second manufacturing unit with an investment of USD 1 billion. This would massively boost their manufacturing capacity.
Ford of course remains one of the smaller players in the Indian market even though they have a wide range of models available.
Volkswagen, Nissan and Renault have become very aggressive in the recent years expanding the competition in this market.
